Chapter 10
Ty
I didn’t know why Vanessa was so worried about Crimson and I didn’t have time to think about it. I’d gotten word from Lechè that GP had plans to stick up a shipment that we had coming in. I always anticipated surprises so I was prepared.
“Lechè, it’s all good?” I asked as I looked over photos of engagement rings sent over from my jeweler. I was hoping that Vanessa hadn’t seen them when she was snooping through my things. By the way that she went off on me about Crimson, I’m guessing that she didn’t.
“Yeah, Ty. It’s good. I got some thorough cats on it this time.”
“Better not be no more fuck-ups.”
“Understood,” Lechè responded and I hung up the phone. I waited for a few minutes before trying Crank again.
I had been trying to get at him all day and I didn’t get an answer once. I hope that nigga wasn’t feeling some type of way just because I had Crimson beat his cousin’s ass. In all honesty, had he been any other nigga, he would’ve gotten a lot worse. He should thank God that I let his lil ass live.
The phone rand and rang. I was just about to hang up when the ringing stopped and I heard a rustling sound on the other end.
“Yo.”
“Crank, where you been at, nigga? I been callin’ you.” I didn’t wait for a response, because I didn’t want an explanation. There wasn’t one that he could give anyways. If I called him, he was expected to answer the phone. I don’t care if he was in the middle of fucking something. Business trumped all.
“Some shit is about to go down with the shipment that’s coming in. GP thinking about making a move on it. I need you to find out everything that you can about it.”
“Yeah,” was all I heard before he hung up.
What the fuck? I started to dial the number back, but then stopped.
Naw, he gone have to see me.
Crank was tripping about something and I needed to see him face to face in order to squash it. I couldn’t let this disrespectful shit slide.
The last nigga I had let get away with disrespecting me had been Cal, and that was solely on the wishes of my pops. I still didn’t understand why pops wouldn’t let me just kill his ass. He was more of a nuisance than anything. In order to make sure that I didn’t give in to temptation and end his life, I sent him to New York.
While in New York, Cal was supposed to be developing a new branch of The Family. I wasn’t sure how much Vanessa knew about her sister’s, Alexis’, husband Marc, but he was a Soriano. The Soriano’s were from New York and they ran a very in-depth and intricate mafia-type organization. They didn’t like calling themselves the mafia because of the stigma associated with it, but that’s what they were in my book.
It was funny how things turned out. No matter
